That is right Earth; we will be playing our first show in Lake Charles, LA this Saturday, May 18th @ The Center Stage.
We are also playing one of our favorite venues, BFE Rock club in Houston,TX on Friday night May 17th.
Come out and buy us a few drinks while your cheer Greg on as he goes for the "longest hair on a bassist who moved from the East coast to Texas and still has an accent" world record. We have invited Guinness but no response as of now.

When worlds collide...Powderburn to play with Powerman 5000
Powderburn is very excited and honored to announce a direct support spot for Powerman 5000 in Austin, TX on Sunday, April 28th at Dirty Dog Bar on 6th street.
The "When Worlds Collide" juggernauts led by, Spider One, have announced that they are currently in the studio recording a new PM5K album and somehow are managing to hit the road to unleash their brand of music to the world. When asked to provide support for them on their stop in Austin, Powderburn didn't hesitate for a moment to take this gig. Also on the bill will be fellow Austin metalheads Closed Hand Promise, Dawn Over Zero and Distant Lights.

Texas Rockfest....it's not quite over yet
As if Adam Brewer's Heart of Texas Rockfest, smack dab in the middle of SXSW, wasn't enough to bring you a hefty dose of rock and metal, he decided to keep the party going with his Rockfest Rewind shows on Saturday April 13th, 2013. There will be over 20 bands playing between the War Horse bar and it's new next door neighbor Project Infest (Formally Antones) and you can be part of the Rockfest party that keeps going long after SXSW is over for only $10. The $10 will get you in to both clubs (or you can choose to only get into one for $6) and there is a virtual who's who of Rockfest artists playing in both clubs. Powderburn will be playing Project Infest at 11:15pm sharp...and if that wasn't enough, we will be playing in block with other Austin bands Black Earth, Critical Assembly and Dirty Wormz. Let us go through that once more...

Thank you SXSW'ers!
SXSW has come and gone once again and through all the chaos involved in being anywhere near downtown Austin, we still pulled off a pretty good show at the annual Heart of Texas Rockfest. Rockfest is THE event to be at during SXSW if you don't want to spend a lot of money on wristbands or badges and you get some of the best talent gathered on multiple stages for 4 days. We can't thank Adam Brewer enough for continually making us a mainstay of his festival and for his unlimited support of Powderburn. We saw some great bands over the course of the festival including old favorites and new upcoming bands.

It's SXSW time!!!!! Free Powderburn show on Wednesday!
If it's spring break in Texas, then you know it's time for the annual SXSW film, interactive, and music festival. For those of you who don't know much about SXSW here's a quick rundown...
The first SXSW Festival was held way back in 1987 and the whole thought behind creating the festival was to bring more attention to the Austin music scene. Austin has long been billed as the "music capital of the world" so having a festival like this seemed only fitting and a proper way to display that badge to everyone. The powers that be in the Austin music scene wanted to create the perfect environment to bring people from all over the world to do business and to showcase talent. What started out with roughly 700 registrants back in those days has now grown to over 16,000 registrants. This doesn't even count the 32,000 registrants that also come here for the film and interactive portions of the festival as well. When you put it all together, what you get is quite possibly one of the best networking opportunities around to show off your talent.
As for Powderburn's role in all this...we will be playing slightly off the SXSW grid in the Heart of Texas Rockfest Festival. This event, which started back in 2000 in one tiny venue with 16 bands, has now grown to hundreds of bands playing in various venues in Austin. Powderburn has been one of the lucky few to be a Rockfest mainstay throughout the years and one of the best features of this festival is that because it's off the SXSW grid, it doesn't follow the wristband/badge rules that other SXSW venues have to follow. Does that mean you have to travel to some hidden part of town to find it?? NO! It's held right in the middle of downtown Austin (7th and Neches) among all the other SXSW venues.
Powderburn will be playing on Wednesday night, March 13th at 11:00pm sharp at the outdoor stages located at 7th and Neches. Once again, this is FREE and you do not need wristbands or badges or anything to come see this show. Also performing that night will be legendary Austin musician Jason McMaster with his band Broken Teeth as well as Austin's guitar virtuoso Yayo Sanchez with his band Cosmic Wolf.
Come on out and enjoy the kickoff of the SXSW Music Festival with Powderburn at a FREE show in the heart of downtown Austin. See you there!!!

It's almost that special time of the year where thousands upon thousands of
people flock to Austin during spring break to pay homage to the music gods
and a few hundred dollars for a wristband to experience the phenomenon known
as South by Southwest. In true Powderburn fashion, we will be a part of
these festivities as well sort of. Powderburn has been a mainstay at the
The Heart of Texas Quadruple Bypass Music Festival a.k.a. The Heart of Texas
Rockfest for many years now. The very cool thing about this festival is
that it's off the SXSW grid while still being downtown where everything else
is going on. That's right; you do NOT need a wristband to attend this
show, you do not need to wait in line for the chance of getting in..none of
that bulls**t. We will be playing the open air stages at 7th and Neches on
Wednesday March 13th. We're still waiting on an official time so standby
for that in the next couple of weeks. Hope to see you there!
