Austin, TX (September 27, 2006) – Hard rock artist Powderburn is announcing it's parting ways with the band's long-time manager, Manny Escamilla. Mr. Escamilla, a native of the Rio Grande Valley, has handled the band's management, booking and press, among other duties during his tenure with the band. The decision to part ways was both amicable and mutual.
"We'd like to stress that Manny has had a huge role in getting Powderburn where we are right now", says singer Ken Lockman. "However, we have started moving in a different direction, both musically and in a business sense, and we'd like to explore as many different options as possible to get where we want to go, and I believe Manny feels the same." Added Mr. Escamilla, "there's no doubt that the band will continue to move forward and I will continue to support them in any way possible. There's a lot of talent out there and I'll continue to seek motivated musicians to work with".
The band continues being active with writing and touring and will be playing Hero's in Harker Heights , TX on Friday, September 29th, and Jake's in Houston , TX on Saturday September 30th. The band also has a regional tour into Kansas planned for October.
