Austin, Texas - May 21, 2006 Austin metal artist, Powderburn, is pleased to announce that it has secured a full Sam Ash Music sponsorship. Sam Ash Music, the musical instrument megastore, is a company that has been servicing the music industry since 1924, and the band is honored to be associated with such an industry giant.
Greg, Ken and myself were always faithful Sam Ash Music customers when we lived on the East Coast, and we were all stoked to hear they opened one down here in Texas, says Powderburn drummer Patrick Swift, I hear they're planning to open one in Austin and I cant wait!
Sam Ash Music is the brainchild of Sam Ashkynase, a violinist from Austria who moved to America in 1907, and settled down in Brooklyn to raise a family. He and his wife Rose pawned her engagement ring to put a down payment on what is now one of the largest music chains in the world.
All the sponsors that we have are companies that we believe in and are proud to go out and promote, adds Powderburn guitarist Josh Klayman, Its great to have another one onboard!
Powderburn was chosen as one of only fifty regional bands to gain this sponsorship deal, through the Sam Ash Music in San Antonio, Texas. As the result of an expansion program that began in the 1950s, under the direction of Sam's sons Jerry and Paul, today there are 45 Sam Ash Musical Instrument Megastores nationwide located in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, Texas, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Fans can catch Powderburns next show on Saturday, June 3rd, at Smileys Ballroom in Harlingen, Texas.
