POWDERBURN TO HEADLINE MULTIPLE SHOWS AT TEXAS ROCKFEST
POWDERBURN TO HEADLINE MULTIPLE SHOWS AT TEXAS ROCKFEST
(March 11th, 2008 - Austin, TX)
The month of March brings a great deal of attention to the city of Austin, due to a legendary music festival called South by Southwest (SXSW). However also during this week another festival has been taking place for years as well. The Heart of Texas Rock Fest has been home to Austin-based metal band POWDERBURN for five years running, and this year is no exception!
As has become tradition, POWDERBURN will be headlining the Dimebag Darrell Memorial Metal night at Spill Bar on Wednesday the 12th at 1am. "This night is always a showcase for some of the finest the metal scene of Austin has to offer", says drummer Patrick Swift, "and we're proud to be associated with a night dedicated to the legend of our scene - so come on down and getcha pull!"
The band will be taking in the sights and sounds of the festival during the rest of the week, and return to the stage to headline not one more show, but both Friday and Saturday night. In addition Powderburn will also be playing the outdoor "Guitar Hero" stage on Thursday at 3:30pm. Friday's show marks POWDERBURN's return to their new home venue, the Rock City Icehouse in the Lincoln Village, and Saturday night brings the band to Merkaba, in Pflugerville, to close out another great night of music.
Singer/guitarist Ken Lockman said: "We love Texas Rockfest because every year they invite tons of unsigned rock and metal bands from all over the country and fans can see them all for free! No wristband, no cover charge.....just free."
For more info on the festival, as well as the complete schedule featuring over 150 band, check out the official website at:
